Blending kitsch with country usually brings on yaws, but 16 Horsepower do it on a convincing way that will have some believing that these guys are a bunch of crazy old coots from the backwoods. Hypnotizing narratives and pastoral jams fuse old timey backline and rustic songwriting with a refreshing new take on Alt. Country. Their songs are a bit long at times, but they actually fill that space with songs and ideas that are rewarding and entertaining. Their Americana is chock full of festive rockabilly and rambling Americana.
