A Fine Frenzy

The clutch of singles that dominate this debut -- "Rangers," "Lifesize," and "Come On, Come Out," for starters -- build lolling verses into exultant choruses and showcase singer Alison Sodul's expressive alto. And even if "Think Of You" is a gently familiar brand of alt-rock that we might expect, when "Liar, Liar" employs a Frenchie accordion intro before the chiming guitars and easy backbeat, it offers a distinct flourish.
