A1 People

About

“Crazy Electro Music”, the title of one of the tracks on their 2002 release, the Yellow Album, is exactly what A1 People play. Formed in 1997 by Londoners Simeon Bowering and Tom Crook, their combination of cutting edge technical skills with old school analogue synthesizers and guitars helped develop what was then described as the new Future Disco sound, but has since been seen as a precursor of the current Electroclash mini-fad. Their dark Germanic techno beats have a Gary Numan synth flavor, which they describe as “Casio crunching energy”.
