Adema

Adema's high-velocity grind is matched only by the throat-ravaging shrieks of singer Mark Chavez. On tracks like the opener "Co-Dependent," Chavez belts out his words with a mixture of angry force and pop approachability. The band's swirling, pummeling riffs create an apt backdrop for exploring dysfunction.

The more upbeat numbers on this dark post-grunge record are impressive, tossing together
crunchy near-metal guitars and arena-ready choruses. But the slower songs find the band
wallowing in new-metal-ish self-pity, and a bunch of lame pseudo gothic lyrics don't help.
