Born in Mexico but raised in South Central L.A., Akwid comprises brothers AK and Wikid. They got their start in the rap game by forming the DJ crew Juvenile Style, and eventually began rapping in Spanish over Mexicali beats. After releasing two albums independently (Proyecto Akwid and 2002 A.D.), the brothers scored a deal with Univision and saw their third album go platinum (in Latin America), thanks to the hit single "No Hay Manera."
