Alabama

After the first set of inspirational tracks from Alabama had mostly religious and patriotic chestnuts, it's good to see the boys digging a little deeper for motivation on the second installment. Here, the most familiar hymn is the bouncing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," but it plays among lesser-known gems like "The Refrain of John Dillon James" and the homespun "Church in the Wildwood." The last track tricks out "The Star Spangled Banner" with strings, but wisely avoids the ascending "rockets red glare" bit, closing the set on a tranquil note.
