Pete and Scarlett will surely draw more than a few comparisons to She & Him: alt-folkie teams up with sexy actress and churns out a batch of precious pop full of retro flourishes. The similarities are really kind of uncanny, which, of course, screams T-R-E-N-D. The biggest difference is the retro angle. Where Zooey and M. Ward are all about Brill Building worship, Johansson and Yorn sound a tad more adult alternative. You half expect Ray LaMontagne or Jason Mraz to pop up and steal Scarlett away.

Pete Yorn has said that he wanted to make a duets record "in the spirit of Serge Gainsbourg
and Brigitte Bardot," but there's none of that famous French lechery here. If anything, this
