Pepe Bradock's Confiote de Bits is a long-overdue collection of the French producer's best remixes from the past dozen years. You may be drawn in by the bigger names -- Alex Gopher, Roy Ayers, Cesaria Evora -- but you'll ultimately be seduced by Bradock's own inimitable style, which churns together hissing drum machines, jazzy keyboards, Afro-Latin percussion and, often, vocals spun into hazy, hypnotic phrases. His sense of the groove is all but unparalleled, but these songs are so warm and welcoming that they make perfect sense far from any dancefloor.
