This 1950s pop overview starts with an unsettling Eisenhower era ode to one-night stands and it just keeps going from there. A fetching mix of the expected ("Blue Velvet) and the gladly resurrected ("I Had Someone Else Before I Had You") this sterling collection graciously revels in showing that the '50s were more complicated than remembered.
