This venerable institution has an uncanny knack for picking the summer's hot crossover hits. But the first half of the album stumbles, hanging lamely around "Canabria 2008," the bizarre but utterly infectious cross-genre hit-out-of-nowhere, even though big names like Beenie Man and the Marley brothers are on board. Even Wayne Wonder limps through a single that was meant to be steamy but that seemed to have wilted in the heat. Fortunately, the second half revives from the curious inertia, kicking off with the impressive Collie Buddz and keeping the neo-roots vibe rolling to good effect.
