Good politics don't always make for great music. And so it goes with this admirable but flaccid collection of songs packaged to raise consciousness about China's human rights violations in Tibet. Moby goes acoustic-ish on "We Are All Made of Stars," Sting goes international hippie-ish on "Send Your Love," and we're all left ... scratching our heads. There are some very nice songs here, actually -- the very cool Teitur, the welcome return of Suzanne Vega -- but an album colored in shades of gray appeals mostly to goths and fans of mid-'90s rock.
