In the '90s several big-time entertainers played faded silent screen star Norma Desmond, including Patti LuPone, Petula Clark and Rita Moreno. But the most successful was generally considered Glenn Close, who starred in both the Los Angeles and Broadway productions. This disc captures that L.A. cast, and it's the only unabridged recording of Sunset Boulevard out there. Then again, length was the most common fault critics found with Andrew Lloyd Weber's adaptation of the classic movie.
