Imagine Manu Chao's shimmering, caffeinated signature sound set against the long slow loveliness of Malian pop singers, and you've basically got this album. As producer, Chao leaves the intricate interplay of Amadou and Mariam's voices alone, but he screws with everything else and the result is almost unbearably delectable.
