With Diplo, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and Spank Rock's XXXChange producing, Philly's Amanda Blank turns out a wide-ranging debut that refuses to settle for "hipster rap." A heavy dose of new wave colors tracks like the B-52s-inspired "Make It Take It" and "Might Like You Better," a B-more sex track that cops its chorus from '80s rockers Romeo Void. There's something for everyone: "Something Bigger, Something Better" gets its Missy on, Lykki Li drops in on the ballad "Leaving You Behind," while "Gimme What You Got," featuring Blank's longtime pals Spank Rock, is a raucous party jam.
