Most pop stars enjoy singing holiday songs because it gives them a chance to open up their throats and let it rip. Andrea Bocelli is such an accomplished vocalist that he wisely takes the opposite approach on some American holiday classics. The Tuscan Tiger gets warm and mellow on tunes like "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and then aims for the rafters on European classics, showcasing the full reach of his operatic abilities. The guest artists, especially the Muppets, keep Bocelli from getting too serious; high marks go to his duets with Reba McEntire, Mary J. Blige and Natalie Cole.
