Archer Prewitt

About

Archer Prewitt was one of the original members of the inventively nostalgic Coctails before being whisked away to join the less nostalgic and equally inventive Sea and Cake. A noted graphic artist as well as musician, Archer Prewitt released his first solo outing In the Sun in '97. Marked by his sunny, washed-out vocal style and chiming guitar work, it came off as a lighter version of the Sea and Cake. The more recent White Sky further developed his own style by fleshing out the songs with concise horn and string arrangements. While arrangements like these could be found on his first record, White Sky exudes more confidence and steps away from the land of Indie Rock and into the world of timeless pop.
