Avant

Vocally, Avant projects a succulent whisper. Like much of the album's production, his voice sounds nearly old-fashioned in 2008 (the year of the auto-tune), which is fitting for this collection's bedroom ballads and mid-tempo paeans to the fairer sex. Avant apologizes unspecified misdeeds not yet committed ("When it Hurts"), offers spa treatments ("French Pedicure") and uses bourgeoisie day excursions ("Sailing") as a metaphor for his love. Only after this extended foreplay and courting, does he offer to "break ya back," which he quickly clarifies, "in a good way."
