Barry White's first-ever live release is also possibly his last album, released four years after his 2003 death. Recorded in 1999 with the Love Unlimited Orchestra during his final tour, An Evening finds the Maestro sounding as smooth and sexy as ever, dedicating "Just the Way You Are" to "all the ladies in the house" and still singing the pants off "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe," a song he must have had more than enough of. "Practice What You Preach" is a highlight, especially for the dirty spoken parts and the small, endearing cracks in both voice and smooth veneer.
