Batdorf & Rodney

In the mid-'70s, Batdorf and Rodney were peripheral characters in L.A.'s mellow mafia (Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Seals and Crofts, etc.). That means the duo's laid-back pop came wrapped inside the professional sterility common to the era. This is why Live at McCabes 1975 is such a rare treat; we actually get hear what soft-rockers sounded like without all the studio goop. And you know what? They were nothing more than folkies -- sensitive dudes with guitars, exploring their souls.
