Bert Jansch

Jansch's '70s output is generally considered uneven. If that's the case, 1973's Moonshine has got to be one of the decade's highlights. In fact, this record is one of the best of his career, easily on par with early classics like Jack Orion, as well as anything in Pentangle's discography. The Brit even busts some, uh, "folk-funk" on "Two Fathers." The smoky jam's electric axe is a direct nod to the San Francisco sound of Quicksilver Messenger Service and early Jefferson Airplane. That's groovy.
