Sometimes cited as a neo-prog band in a category with technophiles Dream Theater and Queensryche, Big Wreck's polished, song-oriented approach actually finds them much more at home alongside chart-toppers such as Tonic and Creed (for whom they've opened on tour). Fans are quick to point out the quartet's origins at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, and while their backgrounds are evident in their cleverly layered guitar parts, it's Ian Thornley's charismatic vocals -- along with the radio-friendly melodies of hits "That Song" and "Blown Wide Open" -- that have made the strongest impression on their growing audience.
