Bing Crosby

Bing's recording career was cooling down by the late 1950s, the same time that the Dixieland revival was in full flight. Since he cut his teeth on classic jazz, Bing joined Bob Scobey's hot San Fran retro jazz outfit and cut one of the best platters of his long career. Crosby's darkly comic version of "Mack the Knife" is definitive (that's saying something, folks).
