This band is made up of veterans of several high-profile Bluegrass bands, including Alison Krauss & Union Station and the Cox Family. They play straight-ahead Bluegrass and make some forays into country music; the instrumental work is frankly mind-boggling. The band can play at unearthly tempos and still retain a sense of subtlety and melodic invention. The singing is also exceedingly strong, even outshining the instrumental work with richly layered harmonies and soulful leads. Their original material has the familiar feel of instant classics.
