Blues Traveler

This collection of mostly acoustic, partially rearranged Blues Traveler tasters is an imaginative retrospective that the band released in time with their 20th anniversary. Some tunes here, like the crisp version of "Defense and Desire," shine from the treatment, if others, like the faux '70s Motown of "Run Around," are played with a heavy hand. The best is saved for last when Charlie Sexton's guest spot on "Carolina Blues" endows the song with a degree of back porch authenticity that outshines anything else on the collection.
