Bombay Jayashri is the rising star of Carnatic music right now. Born in Bombay to musician parents who started her training early, Jayashri has grown into a force to be reckoned with. She's universally praised for her live performances, which demonstrate a degree of seriousness, quality and substance rare in a performer her age. While she's done some film work and has trained in other traditions, her forte is classical Carnatic singing. She also studies the veena under Shri G.N. Dhandapani Iyer.
