Finding a strong tone with their ninth album, Brooks & Dunn mix it up on Steers and Stripes by flirting with rockabilly revival ("See Jane Dance"), latin rock ("My Heart Is Lost To You") and songs that strum on the heartstrings ("The Long Goodbye").

If there's a knock on Brook & Dunn, it's that they don't veer from their tried and true formula
for turbo-charged honky-tonk. It's something of a weightless criticism, as the pair have hit
