After a promising start as a key No Limit soldier and member of TRU, Master P's younger brother C-Murder went from Dirty South rap star to convicted killer serving a life sentence. He released six solo albums between 1998 and 2005, and built up a devoted fanbase (especially in his native New Orleans), thanks to his smooth drawling flow and crime-addled wordplay. His final album The Truest Sh*t I Ever Said was released in the spring of 2005, while his family and legal team continued to appeal his conviction.
