Cabaret Voltaire

Cabaret Voltaire started life as an atonal industrial beast: all noise, no groove. By the mid '80s, however, the outfit (with some help from Flood) had mutated into a funky electro hybrid, featuring jagged guitar licks, punchy synths and one massive drum machine. Many of CV's most enduring tracks are here, including "James Brown" and "Sensoria" (do check out the 12" version). Although Trent Reznor added a metal crunch to the mix, Micro-Phonies contains Nine Inch Nails' early template.
