About
There seems to be no shortage of dreamy instrumentalists these days and Michigan's Calliope fall successfully into that heap of vibraphones and locked rhythms. Calliope also manage to incorporate a deeper funk amidst their detailed orchestrations by involving heavy low-end basslines and turntables. Not that the band limit themselves to non-vocal music -- they cover all musical aspects while projecting a heavily dynamic sound into outer space. A long way from their roots in minor chord drones and feedback blasts, Calliope continue to expand their once-limited frontiers.
