Right before his death, Charles Brown sat down alone at his piano, stared right into the big nowhere, and out came this soulful, reflective slow-burn on love and life. Truth to tell, Brown was always this rueful and reflective. The classically-trained Dapper Dan of the blues remained at the top right to the end.
