Chet Baker

This set, recorded in Holland in two sessions in early October 1985, finds Chet Baker recording with his working trio of the time, led by pianist Michel Graillier. These are all numbers that Baker performed innumerable times, yet he still is able to breathe life into them, often going for an almost sprightly, swinging feel on numbers that he usually performed as dirges (such as "Alone Together," "How Deep Is the Ocean" and especially "All of You"). The years melt away on "I Can't Get Started" -- this is Chet Baker firmly in his comfort zone, doing what he does best.
