Chris Conway understands the sly complexity in crafting music for yoga, Reiki and other spiritual practices. Conway's goal, as In Balance clearly demonstrates, is to help transport listeners to different states of mind and being. If along the way they start to appreciate the music in and of itself, then Conway hasn't done his job. Despite this fundamental restriction, he's done a masterfully subtle job weaving together elements of modern jazz, ambient music and folk sounds from around the world.
