Consolidated

About

Consolidated appeared in the '80s as a necessary advance for hip-hop, bringing unwavering left-wing politics to the foreground. The San Francisco trio of white men became radical voices for issues of class, sex and race using Industrial Dance-infused hip-hop as their vehicle. Unlike much political music, Consolidated have a pointed sense of humor, always the first to direct irreverence at their own positions. Their music is generally simple repetitive beats and instrumentation to foreground their vocals, using poignant samples to elaborate their lyrical ends.
