Yes, there's a "remix world artists" bandwagon. Yes, Palm Pictures stepped on board. But be thankful -- this is a strong, spare and consistently cool release. Gigi's "Gud Fella" gets a funky, low-key remix, while Sidestepper's dubby "Linda Manigua" never squashes the source material. Even the breakbeats on Baaba Maal's "Fa Laay Fanaan" sound surprisingly natural.
