About
Fiery newgrass instrumentals and ornate Country-Folk tales of the human experience from a critically acclaimed songwriter and instrumentalist from Canada. An accomplished mandolin player as well as fiddler, Deaville has been a figure on both the Alt Country and Bluegrass/folk scenes since 1991 when she released Last Hitchhiker on the Lost Highway. Comparisons to Alison Krauss are inevitable, but Deaville comes off a bit edgier than Krauss, boiling a wider array of American styles down to a hard-tack form of Modern Folk.
