On their ninth studio album, these contentious death-metal legends have a major bone to pick with the sanctity of marriage. As infamous frontman Glen Benton lyrically channels his bitter-divorce-fueled rage into 10 brisk tracks, drummer/guitarist and chief song orchestrator Steve Asheim sonically matches Benton's fury with the feral brutality he refers to as "audio torment." Though titles like "Hate of all Hatreds" are a testament to Deicide's honed aggression, the raw conviction of Benton's vocal performance, sinister chugs, irate solos and battering drums drive it home.
