Demolition Doll Rods

About

From the remains of the seminal Detroit garage act the Gories -- and rounded out by what appear to be extra cast members from a Russ Meyer movie -- the Demolition Doll Rods formed in 1997. Characterized by chunky Chuck Berry riffs that hot-rod themselves through a sea of love-making, heart-breaking Rock & Roll, DDR are as bare-bones as can be, unabashedly pounding out kitschy, yet undoubtedly pure, exercises in primitive Punk. The usual references to stock cars and leopard print mini-skirts abound, but there is no doubting the sincerity in their desire to put a spell on you.
