Giving the chopped and screwed treatment to Devin is like thickening molasses. The H-Town rapper/herb aficionado got his start when DJ Screw produced his demo tape back in the early '90s, so his style has always been informed by Screw's slurred and sleepy aesthetic. "What a Job" and the perverse "Cutcha' Up" transform from sludgy soul to gooey drone. This is Devin, so either way you're going to win.
