Much like Johnny Cash and Bobby Charles, Doug "Louisiana Man" Kershaw reinvented himself in the late '60s, making the leap from '50s icon to contemporary singer-songwriter. On 1969's The Cajun Way, the first true full-length of Kershaw's career, the fiddler with the insanely high IQ updates chestnuts like "Diggy Diggy Lo" and busts hard driving social commentary ("You Fight Your Fight and I'll Fight Me"). Also, dig that warm, spacious production; it's full of reverb-soaked ear candy.
