Denver's indie-popsters Dressy Bessy leave lo-fi behind, producing gleaming, guilty-pleasure treats. Singer-songwriter Tammy Ealom's rich, airy alto is one of the most addictive features, riding just below a warm, clean blanket of strummed Fender tone and spirited bashing. A summertime affair, each song seems to bask in its own sunny disposition, powered by its cathartic love of all things smiling. This is so infectious, it hurts. Probably the best part is that Dressy Bessy aren't looking for free lunch; the extra attention paid to detail and full-sounding production puts them way ahead of the droves of three-chord wizards with solely a hat and cane routine.
