Echo and the Bunnymen

The Bunnymen thrill a hometown crowd, bringing stylistic unity to nearly 25 years of material and perhaps even improving on the studio versions of "Lips Like Sugar" and "Never Stop." Guitarist Will Sargent is on fire throughout and while frontman Ian McCullogh's voice falters on occasion (including on "Killing Moon,") his energy never lags.

Sometimes it's OK to settle for second best. Echo and the Bunnymen were not the U.K.'s
best indie band of the Eighties (see the Smiths); they were not the most successful overseas
(see the Cure), and they were certainly not their hometown's favorite sons (see the
