Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy was 21 when his debut album came out, and from the very beginning he sounded like the second coming of Richard Pryor, albeit a bit mean-spirited. Murphy's routines about his drunk father and growing up poor remain amazing, but his jokes about homosexuals have not aged quite so well. Still, Murphy stands as probably the biggest (and best) comedian of the 1980s.
