Edwin Hawkins will always be known for the groundbreaking crossover hit "Oh Happy Day" that was a downright phenomenon in 1969. Since then, Hawkins hasn't let up, continuing to fashion the sound of modern Gospel with a chameleon-like ability to change with the times. Whether he's working with a giant choir or performing his unstoppably funky solo material, Hawkins is a favorite among Gospel and secular fans alike, and his music is indeed an asset to the daily program of many Christians.
