Swedish singer-songwriter Sarah Assbring (aka El Perro Del Mar) has about the weepiest voice you've ever heard. On her 2006 domestic debut, after just a few lush notes, the impulse to hug the fragile songstress is overwhelming. On From the Valley to the Stars, she turns off the waterworks, embraces hope and love, and finds solace in religion. "Glory to the World" and "Happiness Won Me Over" are tender psalms to the joys of the heart.
