After disappointing fans with a previous version of this album featuring a variety of pop performers (including Tina Turner, Lenny Kravitz and the Spice Girls), Elton John and Tim Rice finally gave the people what they wanted: the original cast recording. The cast, coupled with a faithful-to-the-show track order, gives this version more of an authentic Broadway feel.
