Emerson, Lake & Palmer

With this 2008 collection of big hits and choice album cuts, the enduringly successful prog rock institution reminds folks that not only could it reinvent classical music ("Tocatta," "Nutrocker") and stand normal rock moves on their heads ("Tank," "Hoedown"), these dudes could swing -- check "Knife-Edge," a song that sees way too little airplay these days. "Lucky Man" surely does see its share of classic rock rotation, but that song never gets old. "C'est La Vie," however, may be better suited to hardcore Emerson, Lake and Palmer devotees, the poor bastards.
