Eminem offers a modest proposal: He'll eat the children, chop off lesbians' legs, spit on Christopher Reeve's grave and commit other infractions too vulgar to mention. This is a comeback album, a midlife crisis album and a sobriety album rolled into one. It's a post-therapy confessional recast as a celebutante slasher film, drawing from JT LeRoy, John Carpenter and a random slew of Perez Hilton posts from 2006. With producer Dr. Dre's dark, claustrophobic G-Funk, Eminem proves he hasn't lost anything. He remains our brat provocateur, exploring the distance between revulsion and empathy.
