Original member Brian Liesegang left the band shortly after the first album, leaving Richard Patrick to continue on this, their second album. Released in '99, the record caught attention for the single "Take A Picture." More importantly, however, it tightened the arrangements of the first album, streamlining their sound into something commercial and distinct.

Filter's 1995 hit "Hey Man, Nice Shot" was a timely combination of grunge heat and industrial
ice, raw emotion riding a steel pulse of digital rhythm. The breakout moment on Filter's
otherwise unremarkable debut album, Short Bus, "Shot" raised a ruckus when it was widely
