This acclaimed debut from metal supergroup of sorts F.F.D.P. features the tried-and-true metalcore formula: heavy verses capped by catchy, sing-along choruses with muscles and tribal tats. No emo-infusion or Swedish guitars here, just pure pummeling hardcore aggression and a significant '90s metal influence. Vocalist Ivan Moody switches screaming/singing styles fluently and often while guitarists Darrell Roberts and Zoltan Bathory shred with speed and technical precision, making tracks like the noxious "Salvation" and ferocious "White Knuckles" hit harder than an Acme anvil.
