Girl Talk

The hipsters love their irony, and bioengineer-by-day, mash-master-by-night Gregg Gillis is no different. Exhibit A: He is a boy called Girl Talk. Get it? The paradoxical dialog continues on Unstoppable: Hole pleads, "Oh, make me over," and Lil Jon responds, "Shake that ass, b****." He's never quite as eloquent as Dangermouse, nor as persuasive as baile funk, but Gillis talks a more accessible game here than he did on Secret Diary. At times, the discourse is downright smooth: Khia and Richard Marx have a perfectly lovely conversation on "Non-Stop Party."
